The artist Takeshi Murata’s work successfully combines advanced methods of hyperrealistic computer rendering along with the stylistic subversions of still-life painting. However, despite the differences between these two methods the artist’s photo-based work seems to remain simultaneously playful yet meditative. The artist who has most recently shown his work at Salon 94’s Bowery location has recycled some of that very same imagery, and has successfully paired it with the experimental music of Brooklyn-based producer Oneohtrix Point Never.
