Thanks for Nothing, Judith Supine

September 10, 2013 | Kyle Chayka

This SaturdayKnown Gallery in Los Angeles will be presenting “Thanks for Nothing,” a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Judith Supine and Alia Shawkat.

Judith Supine has created eighty small works in addition to six large scale pieces. Supine, who is widely known for his provocative and intriguing indoor and outdoor collages, created many of his work using magazine pages, candy packaging, phone cards, cigarette boxes and blunt wrappers. Accompanying these pieces are several works on paper by self-taught artist, actress, and musician Alia Shawkat, whose drawings focus on the awkward and embarrassing moments we experience in we are faced with during our day-to-day lives. “Thanks For Nothing,” Judith Supine and Alia Shawkat, Sep 14 – Sep 28, Known Gallery, Los Angeles
