Electric Objects: A Sleek, New Way To Exhibit Internet Art In Your Home

July 8, 2014 | Sophie Weiner

“Electric Objects,” currently funding on Kickstarter, bills itself as “a framed high-definition screen and integrated computer that hangs on your wall and brings art from the Internet into your home.” The idea behind EO1 is to give the infinite variety of digitally-produced art a new way of being exhibited, instead of letting it languish forever in 0’s and 1’s.

EO1s are sleek. The screens feature a matte finish and minimal brightness, optimal for displaying digital works without burning the displays. You can switch the contents at any time via your phone. Electric Objects is even partnering with artists to make original works for the device. (Participating artists get a free EO1 themselves). Their Kickstarter has already reached almost five times its goal, but you have until August 7th to get in on one of these sick t shirts.
