Floating Geometric Shapes
Made of Light

July 14, 2014 | Sophie Weiner

The Korean design studio Kimchi and Chips has created another awesome light-based art experiment. In Light Barrier, they fashioned mirrors and smoke into a construction that creates translucent moving shapes in the air. The circles that emanate from their installation look like the smoke rings of a giant, and as it shifts into more rigid shapes you get the feeling they’re summoning otherworldly spirits of design. The project premiered at the New Media Night Festival in Nikola-Lenivets, Russia. (Gif: Prosthetic Knowledge)
