Long Island Railroad Train Painted With Graffiti

November 4, 2014 | Aymann Ismail

Traditionally, when a graffiti artist risks arrest to paint a train in New York, he or she usually targets a subway car, but one enterprising writer decided to go against the grain by painting a Long Island Railroad train instead.

Earlier today, I shot a photo of a LIRR commuter train near the Arch Street Yards emblazoned with the name “POTNA” on the side and what’s left of 5 Pointz as a backdrop, creating quite a juxtaposition between two aerosol worlds which are related, yet couldn’t be further apart. According to a source who knows the writer, the train was painted weeks ago.
