It’s Probably Going To Be A Horrible Winter, Just Like Every Year Since Beginning Of Time

November 13, 2014 | Amy K. Nelson

There is a cold front across this entire country and here in New York City, it’s going to be fucking cold on Thursday, and all week. There might even be snow overnight, which has everyone trying to guess how bad a winter it will be.

Here’s a tip that will save everyone time, including The New York Times — which devoted nearly 300 words Thursday morning explaining why everything sucks: It’s always cold, winter always sucks and is terrible and miserable and bad, and fall is a bullshit season people glorify when really all it is is winter, disguised as some fun season where you get to wear sweaters again and see leaves turn brown and die.

I don’t know why there aren’t more stories about how much this time of year sucks, but here’s the most perfect line I could imagine from a piece in xojane:

Fall is hunger and desperation before a season of death and slumber.

Everything is terrible.
