There are many, many reasons to dislike Kim Kardashian, breaker of the internet, purveyor of selfies and symbol of mind-numbing, soul-crushing millennial vanity. But it was over her predilection for fur that a group of activists bombed her Tuesday signing for Selfish at a Midtown Barnes & Noble.
A group of about 10 protesters, some of whom crashed Joan Rivers’s book event last July, swarmed Kardashian. “I just want to say, you are the most disgusting human being on this planet. Shame on you for supporting the fur industry!” said one man. Kardashian’s posse pushed him along, but more demonstrators came out to call her “a terrible person.” The best line, delivered by a guy with a steady and calm voice: “Can you make it out to all the animals that have been killed for you to wear a fur coat?”
The activists arrived at the book store around 6 AM and ambushed the mega-star around 12:45 PM. After they were escorted out, they continued to protest out front. There were no arrests, but according to one activist present, “Some people looked sad when seeing the photos of the animals, a few were hailing Kim.”
