MTA Explains Subway Delays In the Most Obnoxious Way Possible: 8-Bit

May 19, 2015 | Bucky Turco

“Learn how a single delayed train can cause delays throughout an entire subway line — and one strategy that train dispatchers use to get service back to normal,” writes the MTA in the YouTube description of a new 8-bit style video it produced. Apart from associating itself with the 1980s, a time period in NYC history which the agency bemoans, or highlighting frequent problems like train delays with mind-numbing video game sounds, I can’t think of a worst way to make to make an otherwise high tech transit system look like it’s strung together by Atari 2600s. Game over!
