New York City’s fireworks display is already the largest in the country, and it’s getting even bigger this year. The city is having not one, but two patriotic spectacles, Mayor de Blasio announced on Wednesday. The skies will be lit up over the East River at both Midtown and South Street Seaport.
According to CBS, the Macy’s sponsored fireworks will be divided between four barges positioned at 23rd and 37th streets and “one double-barge positioned below the Brooklyn Bridge.”
“This celebration will light up the sky for millions in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. There’s no question: this will be a dynamite Fourth of July for New Yorkers across the city,” Mayor de Blasio said.
