A one-bedroom place costs, on average, $4,450 a month to rent in Tribeca. That’s about $1,000 more a month than the same place in Soho, and $2,000 more per month than it would in the neighboring Lower East Side. Those numbers are according to real estate site Zumper (via Business Insider), which has ranked the rent of neighborhoods in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
DUMBO is Tribeca’s Brooklyn equivalent, at $3,720 a month. It’s the fourth most expensive neighborhood in the two regions, following Chelsea ($3,920) and Greenwich Village ($3,850).
The most affordable places in Manhattan are East Harlem ($1,950), Central Harlem ($2,000), West Harlem ($2,180) (that’s according to Zumper’s blog post — oddly, Harlem is cut off Zumper’s map).
If you want a (slightly) less bleak look at New York real estate, check out this map, which gives a lot more detail into its calculations.
