‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Helicopter Annoys Tribeca Residents

June 29, 2015 | Liam Mathews

Over the weekend, Tribeca residents were disturbed by a very loud helicopter. It appeared at around 6 AM on Saturday, and was still in the sky above Hudson Street at around 8:30 Sunday night. Tribeca Citizen determined that it was filming for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

The real story is not that Tribeca residents were annoyed about a helicopter flying around. Tribeca is mostly populated by bankers and their children, so they’ll complain about anything. No, the real story is that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is being filmed on location. Why do they need to film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 on location? Does the viewing public care about verisimilitude in pizza-eating turtles? I can’t believe the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was so successful. They kept forcing those turtles on us until we bought in.
