Today, PETA and other animal rights activist groups held a small but vocal anti-cruelty demonstration just a block from the Ringling Bros Circus’ Elephant “Dance Party,” the event that is substituting for the usual elephant parade. While elephants in circus attire stood deliberately arranged in the street, eating fruit in front of spectators, the protestors spread the word of Ringling Bros’ alleged abuses towards their elephants and other circus animals.
