Day 114, yesterday: Image Palette, a super simple, super useful tool for determining the exact colors in any image on your computer, then using its RGB triplet or hexadecimal value to program a website.
When artist Jennifer Dewalt started all of this, she didn’t know a lick about programming. Settling on learning with the venerated JFDI method, Dewalt began teaching herself, with an ambitious goal in mind: she’d create 180 websites in 180 days. Today, she made that quest public with a blog post (including the nuts and bolts, like when she began to augment her HTML and CSS with Javascript and Rails), and a link on Hacker News. And the websites are fucking awesome.
In addition to the ones mentioned above, there’s also a way to sketch using check boxes, a fish that follows your mouse pointer, and a rain simulator that floods your screen. The first project was a simple game of chance that rewards you with one of the greatest videos on the internet when you win.
