Dead Media the newest installation by artist Noah Scalin of Skull A Day. The anamorphic beast looks like a classic skull. Move an inch, and it doesn’t. Move some more, and it’s a pile of useless VHS, appropriately, the dead media only your grandpa and Harmony Korine uses.

At 20′-8″ x 8′-11″, the cranium, mandibles and osseous accessories are made entirely from disheveled, donated video cassettes, 497 of them. Commissioned by TCC VIsual Arts Center, Portsmouth, VA, the installation is on view at the Tidewater Community College, September 15 – November 1, 2012. Classic.

Yoo-hoo, down where! Holbein’s The Ambassodors, 1533. Yup.
