Common sense for any kind of opening in the city dictates that unless you’re on the guest list or have special credentials, you’re wasting your time. A lesson learned the hard way yesterday when throngs of damp, Kid Robot fans were told they would not be running their fingers over smooth oversized vinyl Dunnies at the toy peddler’s new flagship space in NYC—which amazingly got done in time—despite waiting on line for hours. Considering the store wasn’t even packed to capacity also added to the pain. One poor kid, who came all the way from Long Island on a school night, was flatly denied. “Come back on the weekend” was the best advice the door girl could give to the disheartened youth. Jump for flicks of depressed kids in colorful, rain soaked hoodies and the video denial—the “I Hate You” candy heart t-shirt worn by the bouncer topped things off lovely.
