While most reasonable thinking people are aware of just how fabricated Fox News is, who would have thunk the parent network’s manipulation extends to their “reality” shows too? A Reddit user noticed something funny about the MasterChef crowd while watching an episode, which was aptly described as “television sorcery.” See anything suspicious?
Seven more weeks to the Rapture, you guys! So says the newly launched website of the crowbar-wielding trucker Kathy Folden who destroyed Enrique Chagoya’s The Misadventures of the Romantic Cannibals at the Loveland Museum. There’s a ten page treatise on the “incident” (“I know I will be rewarded, above the satisfaction I got from ripping such an offense to shreds”), extensive evidence that Bill Gates is the Antichrist (he’s got a “bionic brain implant to directly connect him with his worldwide computer networks” and “gets his neighbors drunk so he can see them naked”) and many hat tips to Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. After years of being rejected by broadcasters, it’s no surprise that Ad Busters latest anti-advertising commercial has been refused by Fox and MTV. The Commercial Breakers TV spot is apparently just the first in a “series of subvertisements aimed at disrupting the promotion of overconsumption and attacking the legitimacy of advertising.” Hopefully the later releases will be easier to digest. There is no marriage more perfect than that of reality TV and porn, the coming together of TV’s trashiest medium and cinema’s crappiest productions. In this spirit, Fox Reality Channel, which is arguably the worst network in existence, will be launching “My Bare Lady 2: Open for Business” this November. The first season of “My Bare Lady” focused on four porn stars in London as they attempted to learn how to perform Shakespeare as well as they perform blow jobs. Sadly, they all sucked. (“There’s no personality there–at all,” one of their thespian peers observed.) The second season brings together Brooke Haven, Casey Parker, Sunny Leone and Veronica Rayne, sticks them in a house with some guy who’s supposed to be like Tony Robbins, and makes them wash some cars, all of which is supposed to teach them how to run a business but in reality is an excuse for Fox to pass off soft-core porn as mainstream programming.
Flashers beware! The City is dangling, as Fox puts it, “stiffer fines” for pervs caught in a lewd act. A conviction for public lewdness will now carry an ‘A class’ misdemeanor and the fine will be increased from $500 to $1,000. Most importantly, maximum jail time will also increase from 90 days to 365 days. Hopefully this will help discourage would be flashers, but it’s not likely. In instances like this, public justice by way of a cell phone cam and Flickr account might end up being the most effective deterrent of all. Especially when that leads to the added embarrassment of being splashed across the front cover of The Daily News.
