M-City and Gaia Get Busy in Bed Stuy

Street artist M-City followed up his recent wall painting in Long Island City, putting up a legal mural with Gaia in Bed Stuy. The duo finished stenciling and pasting up their collaborative collage over the last couple days in spite of frigid temperatures. Organized by Brooklynite Gallery and situated down the street, the finished work features some of the artists’ signature styles: bold buildings, birds and gears.

Appropriating the Appropriator

Skewville apparently likes to mark his territory and nudge streets artists that put up work in his part of town with a little painted reminder. The Brooklyn-based vandal has been steadily enhancing various pieces and now adds Shepard Fairey to his hit list with this highly appropriate and smartly done modification.

Street Artist Not Comfortable In His Own Skin

Since you can never be too careful, street artist Gaia dons a mask even while working in the safety of his own studio. “Taming Nature,” a new short film by Nicholas Heller, documents the Brooklyn-based artist as he prepares a print and pastes it up in Crown Heights, all while wearing an attention-grabbing disguise. Gaia and Imminent Disaster Get Up In Ad Hoc Art

Tonight, Ad Hoc Art in Bushwick opens an exhibition of work by Gaia and Imminent Disaster. The two street artists, both creating their divergent images in black and white palettes, have installed their work indoors. The show opens from 7 to 10 PM tonight and remains on view through July 26th at 49 Bogart Street in Bushwick.
