The inevitable has happened and Lil Wayne’s newest album Tha Carter IV has finally leaked. Here’s a link to a download of a good copy of the album’s deluxe version (you’re welcome). Most of the album is anti-chorus cuts featuring a lot of hashtag-rap and metaphors that we’ve heard before countless times. Read more »
Last year, rapper Lil Wayne bought a mansion in Miami for $14 million. This year he’s selling it for $12.9 million. Did the luxury real estate market drop off or something? Nah, it more likely has to do with the $5.6 million he currently owes the IRS in back taxes. Damn, maybe Hov wasn’t too far off with that ‘Baby money’ line after all?
And donate to the legendary DJ Kool Herc. He’s sick and has no money or health insurance according to DJ Premier, who revealed the hip hop pioneer’s condition via the radio. Isn’t it kind of shameful that this news even got this far and a dozen or so of the industry’s top earners haven’t already covered the bill?
Someone is having a field day with rapper Lil Wayne’s Twitter. You can check out the real time vandalism over at @LilChinetu or read the less fun, but real Weezy-maintained account at @LilTunechi. UPDATE: After several hours, Wayne got his account back: @TheLilTunechi Read more »
Did Lil Wayne Already Violate His Parole?

Yesterday, Lil Wayne was released from Rikers Island and wasted no getting back into the swing of things. His close friend and post-jail paparazzo, DJ Scoob Doo, posted a photo of the rapper kicking back with a cigar, watching videos of himself and drinking what must have been iced tea out of a cognac glass, because according to TMZ, anything else would be a violation of his parole.
This morning, Lil Wayne was released from Rikers after serving eights months for a gun possession charge. DJ Scoob Doo snapped a blurry photo of the rapper as he was seen leaving with his entourage. He’s headed to Miami for a big party where he will completely behave himself and not engage in any illegal activity whatsoever.
In the next 48 hours or so, Lil Wayne gets out of jail and so he wrote one final letter to his fans which was then posted on the microsite he launched specifically for that purpose. A Nelson Mandela he isn’t.
As the countdown clock on his newly launched site notes, rapper Lil Wayne still has 215 days and a few hours/minutes/seconds to go until he is released from Rikers Island, but in the meantime he’ll stay busy by reading letters from fans and then posting responses on WeezyThanxYou.com. Write him here: Eric M. Taylor Center, Dwayne Carter NYSID# 02616544L, 10-10 Hazen Street, East Elmhurst, NY 11370
This was the scene outside of the criminal courthouse in Manhattan earlier as Lil Wayne arrived to be sentenced. Judge Charles Solomon gave the rapper an opportunity to address the court, but he declined and a verdict was finally rendered: one year at Rikers. With good behavior, he’ll be out in eight months. But as one cell closes another one opens: TI’s got a new track out: “I’m Back.” |Miss Info|
