Annie Leibovitz is Screwed

Recently fished out of financial hell by Colony Capital, Annie Leibovitz is already another $800k in debt. The investment firm who arranged Leibovitz’s deal with Colony and helped save her entire catalog from being confiscated collateral, is suing for unpaid fees. Over the last few years, a combination of reckless spending and personal misfortunes has left the photographer broke. After presenting the concept and being summarily rejected by the activist group, the forsaken ad made its way online, thoroughly pissing off the WWF. The Apollo Reimagines Michael Jackson’s Age

Earlier today, upon hearing the news of his death, the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem posted a tribute to Michael Jackson on their iconic marquee. Unfortunately, they got his birth year wrong by 15 years. He was born in 1958 and by ’79 had already put out one of his best selling albums: “Off the Wall.”

Concorde Hits Turbulence In Brooklyn

The decommissioned supersonic jetliner has only been in Brooklyn’s Floyd Bennett Field for less than two years and was already damaged, with it’s nose cone getting knocked off: “In a multicultural crash in the middle of the night, the jet, a Concorde that is owned by a British airline, was hit by a truck that was hauling equipment from a Jamaican music and soccer festival. The truck clipped the distinctive nose cone off the parked Anglo-French jet about 3 a.m. last Monday, prompting an impassioned uproar among the jet’s band of enthusiasts.” |NYT|
