Cabbie Gets Cursed With $1K Fine For Profanity

While most reasonable New Yorkers would probably agree that news anchors shouldn’t be dropping f-bombs at will, the idea of fining and suspending cabbies like Zbigniew Sobczak for it is more repugnant than the worst explicatives. “The Taxi & Limousine Commission promised to slap big fines on cabbies who swear and possibly revoke their licenses, The Post has learned. Sobczak was suspended for 30 days and fined $1,000 – even though he was found guilty only of verbal harassment, not assault, after a hearing before administrative-law Judge Alessandra Zorgniotti.” |NYP|

Sue Simmons’ Semi-Personal Email Apology

In the wake of last night’s hilariously profane cutaway, NBC Channel 4 News anchor, Sue “What The Fuck Are You Doing?!” Simmons, sends us this email in an attempt to explain herself:

hi,
i’m very sorry for what happened last night. i had no idea we were on live. i was playfully trying to get chuck’s attention. unfortunately, i got the attention of thousands and many were not amused. i admit i have a potty mouth at times. never never did i intend for new york to receive an example of it. i can’t take it back. i can apologize. i’m still very embarrassed today. i’m trying to answer each and every person thats contacted me.
i hope you will accept my apology.
thanks, sue

We accept her apology, but we were highly amused.

Sue Simmons Caught Cursing On Air: Blurts “What the Fuck Are You Doing?”

Millions of viewers watching the season finale of Medium on NBC last night got quite an earful from veteran anchor Sue Simmons. During a promo for the 11 O’clock News she is heard off camera, shouting, “What the fuck are you doing?” while teaser footage was rolling for an upcoming story about the rising costs of food. Although Simmons wasn’t exactly caught red handed on video like Arthur Chi’en—who was promptly fired from CBS for letting a f-bomb fly—her voice was very audible and with today’s hyper sensitive environment, not to mention the FCC fines, her career is so over. But you stay classy New York!

Update: She apologized on air at 11:06 p.m., “While we were live just after 10 p.m., I said a word that many people find offensive. I am truly sorry. It was a mistake on my part and I sincerely apologize.”
Update 2: Sue Simmons responds by email, blames it on Chuck!
