The fake testimonial is a tried and true advertising lie. Here, Long Island grocery store chain Waldbaum’s, in an ad selling their online shopping service to time-strapped commuter Moms and Dads, shamelessly employs a precious little model girl to tell this fake and ridiculously unbelievable story. The whole FUCKING day looking for ladybugs? Did you count them with Daddy? Did you name them all? Did you squish any of them? Did you eat any of them? Was Daddy drinking from a flask or putting pills in his mouth or smoking funny-looking cigarettes that smelled like Mommy’s sage?
