Fine Art Skate Shop Debuts With
ROA Decks

March 11, 2013 | Andy Cush

The Sk8room is a new online store devoted to collecting and selling skate decks festooned with images by renowned photographers, graffiti writers, and street artists. Their catalog is full of heavyweights–check out examples from Damien Hirst, Shepard Fairey, and Banksy in the gallery–and they’re debuting with a set of original pieces from Belgian animal artist ROA. Best of all, 20 percent of proceeds Sk8room go to the badass NGO Skateistan, which uses skateboarding as a tool for empowering youth in Afghanistan and Cambodia.

If you’re in the quickly growing center of the Venn diagram with skateboarding enthusiasts on one side and people who can afford $2,000 pieces of art on the other, give them a look. I want one of those hand-drawn Ed Templeton decks.
