A team at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland has presented a second version of their previous amphibious robot, titled Salamandra robotica. Behold, Salamandra robotica II. While comparing the two, you can see that the new Salamandra now tucks its “feet” in when swimming, and also reacts to the transition between water and land more accurately. The original almost seems to be flailing in the water. Watch the video above and see some swans get perplexed by this crazy new amphibious technology.
