Before there was Humans of New York, before there was The Sartorialist, there were these guys: OG photographers like Ricky Powell, Martha Cooper, Jamel Shabazz, and Jamel Freedman, who captured the raw, beating heart of New York in decades past through its artists, graffiti writers, junkies, and street people. Everybody Street, a new documentary featuring the photogs above and a slew of others, brought to you by the same people behind that underground art book newsstand we were so jazzed about, will premier at Canada’s Hot Docs International Film Festival.
