As we reported yesterday, one of the motorcyclists involved in the chasing and beating of Alexian Lien–an incident that’s received widespread attention due to a viral video–was an undercover cop. Now, Wojciech Braszczok, an NYPD detective, has been arrested for riot and criminal mischief. According to the New York Times, “more counts could be added.”
Braszczok told police of his involvement four days after the incident, saying he’d left the group before things got violent, but video footage from the scene revealed that not to be the case. The detective could be seen beating on the windows of Lien’s SUV, but it is unclear to what extent he was involved in the violence that followed.
