Soon, Your Private Jet May Have HD Screens, Not Windows

February 24, 2014 | Andy Cush

We’ve all been there. You’re flying over the Atlantic in your private jet, wishing you could experience the breathtaking views of the ocean below you, but all you’ve got are those dinky, porthole-style windows to look out of. Where’s the fun in that?

Fortunately, a new jet called the S-512 — billed by its creators as the world’s first supersonic private plane — will entirely do away with silly, pedestrian glass, replacing windows with full-length HD screens that stream from cameras mounted along the sides. According to the company’s renderings, it will look something like this.

The S-512, which is projected to top out at 1,370MPH, will be able to get you from New York to London in four hours. The only question now what phrase Rick Ross will find to rhyme with its name. Coming December 2018.
