Justin Casquejo, a 16-year-old from Weehawken, NJ, made his way to the top of 1 World Trade Center at 4AM Sunday, sneaking past several security guards. To get to the 104th floor, Casquejo simply took the elevator — according to the Post, the operator let him up despite his lack of ID.
The young urban explorer got off on the 88th floor and trekked up the stairs to floor 104, where he snuck past a sleeping security guard who’s since lost his job. After two hours atop the building, Casquejo was caught by a worker on his way down.
“Ha ha, oh yeah, that. Right. I would really love to talk to you guys because I have a lot that I want to say about it,” he told the Post. “I was told that I just can’t [talk] without permission.”
Casquejo was eventually apprehended by police, but will get off relatively easy for his escapades — he’s facing only a misdemeanor trespassing charge, and as a minor, any criminal record will likely be sealed under NYS law.
No word on whether he got any photos while he was up here, but here are a few from some of his other outings.
