Jacob Lavoro is a 19-year-old who’s facing life in prison for allegedly trying to sell pot brownies. Because he added hash oil to the recipe and it’s Texas, prosecutors are trying to charge him with the total weight of all the ingredients used to make the tasty edibles even though the batch was tested, and only contained 2.5 grams of THC (a gram short of an eighth). In the Lone Star State, weed concentrates are classified in the same category as amphetamines and ecstasy according to the Daily News.
Lavoro could get anywhere from five years to life if convicted. Meanwhile, a few states over in Colorado, Samantha Chea just took home the top prize at Denver County Fair for her pot brownies.
