Here’s Video of Men In Mexican Wrestling Masks Making Live Rave Music In the Subway

Once in a while, a subway performance is so good that you’ll wish you didn’t have some place important to be. As I rushed home Wednesday night, the sound of thumping bass caught my attention on the subway platform. Someone was playing nearly EDM-rave-like music, transforming the Delancey Street F stop into a club.

The sound was coming from two men in Lucha Libre masks, jamming out with drum machines propped up on a self-powered speaker. The minimal set-up included a shopping cart and a laptop on the floor. They were making EDM — live. As straphangers bopped their heads, they grooved while waiting for their train. The beats were so sick that one guy actually skipped his train to listen to these guys.

The duo, from Mexico, calls itself Chango. They handed me their business card with a tagline that reads: “Psychedelic smoothie for your ears.”
