“No Your City” is an 8-part mini-documentary series profiling interesting characters in New York City, now in its second season. Episode 1 introduced us to Washington Square Park’s Larry the Birdman, and episode 3 follows street performer Qween Amor as s/he (Qween Amor’s preferred pronoun) twerks around Times Square.
“Gay people are not here to fit into society,” Qween Amor says. “We’re here to stand out and live bright and be loud, because it’s our God-given right to do so.”
Qween Amor doesn’t care about what you think of Qween Amor. Whether you’re a fan or not, you have to respect someone so devoted to their dream to brave homelessness, prostitution, and constant homophobia and police interference in its pursuit.
