Six Things To Do With the Rumored Facebook Hashtags

March 14, 2013 | Samer Kalaf

Earlier today, we talked about cool things you could do with Twitter’s new line breaks, and now it seems that Facebook might add another bell/whistle to their interface: hashtags. How much you’d be able to see through hashtags hasn’t been determined yet, as Facebook requires friending as opposed to Twitter’s majority of public accounts, but either way, if this happens, Facebook will be stepping on Twitter’s convenient topic-sorting turf. The war is on.

Here’s a list of fun things to do with hypothetical Facebook hashtags to make them not be as stupid as they’re going to be:

-Have your clever topical jokes broadcast to kids from high school that you haven’t talked to in six years. They’re going to love #movietitlesreplacedwithbacon!
-Import #tittytuesday. With the large number of moms on Facebook; this plan has no chance of backfiring.
-Have even MORE people #rememberthe90s. Remember them? Damn, the 90s.
-Live-Facebook(?) events, as your aunt likes each update and says how you’ve always been a funny kid since you were in diapers.
-Neatly organize every time you have a bowel movement in one convenient little tag.
-Seriously. Don’t brush off the idea of Facebook #tittytuesday so quickly. It’ll be good.

Put your suggestions in the comments.
