This Weed Is Aces

Ouch. JAM that forced metaphor into my bloodshot eyes, Doner, Canada. Like most Americans, I first learned that gambling was an addiction when Marge became the gambling monster Homer called “Gamblor.” These ads, much less effective than that Siimpsons episode, are part of a campaign for Toronto’s Bellwood Health Services, “the premiere Canadian addiction treatment centre” where they also treat alcohol, drug, and sex addiction. Sex addiction…now that’s the forced metaphoric gambling campaign I wanna see. These executions are what is derisively called a “first thought” idea in ad school. In fact, a militant teacher I had at SVA would have lit that weed ad on fire in front of the whole class and smoked it (seriously). And if gambling is “just as addictive” as cannabis, well then Canada, it’s not really much of problem for ya.
