Inspired by the challenge of earning cash in this economic crisis, Brooklynite Gallery is opening an exhibition inspired by “the world’s simplest way to make a living,” shining shoes. “Go Get Your Shinebox” brings together more than a hundred artists, including Skewville, Ben Frost, Miss Bugs, Aiko and Broken Crow, showcasing their cubic works, a “survival box” for getting by. Broken Crow and Overunder Release Non-Native Species in Brooklyn
After cutting it up with Logan Hicks for the Broken Horse stencil show in Carroll Gardens, the Minneapolis-based duo Broken Crow got down with Overunder to paint this mural outside Espeis Gallery in Williamsburg. Thanks to filmmaker Maria Juranic, you can watch this bear and porcupine come to life in just under a minute.
Brooklyn Bank Hosts ‘Broken Horse’ Art Installation
This evening, three artists take their work to the bank, installing their show, Broken Horse, for its Friday opening. John Grider and Mike Fitzsimmons of Minneapolis-based Broken Crow join Brooklyn-dwelling Logan Hicks of Workhorse Visuals for a three-day installation at the former Hamilton Savings & Loan building in Carroll Gardens.
