Grandma Raps About Drugs on ‘Dope’ Video

Here’s an educational video from a 67-year-old woman about the hypocrisy of America’s drug prohibition entitled 420 – We Can’t Have That, which is done so fantastically bad it’s good. Her rapping style and geriatric drawl would make any subscriber to High Times happy, but that’s about it. The message is spot on though.

Cannabis Genome Project

Here’s some of the coolest science news to ever be reported: the DNA of weed has been mapped out (both Sativa and Indica). Bubble-bubble. A company called Medicinal Genomics published the raw data, but will now have to assemble the 131 billion bases of cannabis sequence into a usable model. Read more »

DEA Rules Against Science, Justice, and the American Way

The DEA, a federal agency with no medical expertise whatsoever and an obvious conflict of interest, has decided that pot lacks therapeutic value and therefore should remain a Schedule I drug. This decision was in response to a petition filed way back in 2002 seeking to have cannabis reclassified, but according to the feds, weed has “no currently accepted medical use.” REALLY? Read more »

Seems like they’ve had a little change of heart. Check out the selective editing that NORML caught. Notice anything different? Back to 1975 it is.

Famous Rich Guy Supports Legalization

Billionaire George Soros wrote a column in today’s Wall Street Journal detailing why he’s all for Prop 19. Basically, it will save money, resources, and give police the opportunity to focus their energies on real crime. It could also bring a semblance of equality to a criminal justice system that is currently out of whack and has been since pot was prohibited more than seven decades ago. Read more »

In less than two weeks, California voters will get the opportunity to vote on Proposition 19, a law that would tax and regulate the sale of weed. Weed Is Great Medicine Says New Study

Once again, in yet another study, smart people from the University of Montreal have determined that cannabis does help reduce chronic pain in patients and with much fewer side effects than prescription drugs reports ABC News. Good news right? Not for Dr. “Killjoy” from Duke University who said: “I don’t think I would ever encourage a patient to smoke anything. Can someone explain how is it that a doctor from a major university never heard of a vaporizer?

Fake Weed Now More Dangerous Than the Real Stuff

Just like “marijuana” in the 40s, K2 is the newest substance to get the Reefer Madness treatment by authorities and the media. The legal herb mixture is reportedly causing chaos amongst the youth with 30 new cases of severe reactions in St. Louis that include hallucinations, nausea and vomiting, making real weed a much safer alternative. Still, for some reason, kids in Missouri love this crap and so officials are responding the only way they know how: fear and panic!
