ObamaBike Sells, Democratic Candidate Just Got A Little Richer

After nineteen bids, the one of a kind, Geekhouse built ObamaBike, with custom graphics by Dan Fuderburgh has sold for $1,425 on eBay to a chap in California. Once payment is received, ANIMAL will immediately make a donation on behalf of all parties involved to Barack Obama’s not so cash strapped presidential campaign, hoping to help the candidate further smash money raising records and to remind the McCain camp of their dismal failure in every aspect of the race.

ObamaBike Is Ready To Roll

There’s only 20 days left until Election Day but the race is still far from over. To keep the momentum moving forward and promote the candidate offering a more progressive energy policy for the future than that frightening cackle of “Kill, baby, kill” “Drill, baby, drill,” ANIMAL brought Geekhouse bike builder Marty Walsh together with pattern reworking genius Dan Funderburgh to create this ONE OF A KIND ObamaBike. The hand-built track cycle was put up for auction on on eBay beginning today, with proceeds benefitting Barack Obama’s victory fund. The fixed gear masterpiece measures 55cm, sports a curved seat tube, custom sublimated graphics on the Geekhouse Custom ‘Rockcity’ frame/fork, and Velocity Deep V wheelset, plus an exclusive ‘Obama Chainring’ logo on the front. It comes race-ready with a nice selection of parts (Thomson Steam and Post, SDG Saddle, Tioga Headset, Sugino Messenger Cranks/Chainring, MKS Sylvan Track Pedals/Clips, Continental tires). Close-ups and details of the carbon footprint reducing mode of transportation below. UPDATE: sold for $1425.

Dan Funderburgh Releases New Cutting Edge Print

Dan Funderburgh stays busy. After whipping up that Chinatown toile, the graphic distracting designer has a new print hot off the press. The sharp witted “Gravity’s Rainbow” print is being offered through socially-minded design practitioners, I Am Still Alive in Brooklyn, NY. There’s two versions being offered: an open edition measuring 13″x20″ ($30) and a limited edition 12″x19″ print ($100), released in an edition of 26, signed/numbered.

Chinatown Wallpaper Provides NYC-Centric Coverage

Pattern reworking “graphic distractor” Dan Funderburgh designed this amazing Chinatown inspired wallpaper. The toile was commissioned by art collective, Chinatown Soccer Club, for their adidas sponsored clubhouse in Vienna, Austria to help hype the 2008 European Cup. The idea was to create “a wallpaper that aims to give viewers an idea of our home turf,” writes Funderburgh. Included are images of graffiti splashed box trucks and other culturally relevant oddities. Flavor Paper in New Orleans are responsible for the printing the soft red toile and are selling limited edition quantities: $150 for a 27×15 inch roll. |12ozProphet|
