Eastern Distict Offers Artists A Place To Crash

Tomorrow, Eastern District gallery in Bushwick opens Plenty of Room on the Couch, a summer show from a disparate group of artists. The exhibition of work, all priced at $300 or less, opens from 7 to 10 PM and is on view through July 19 at 43 Bogart Street.

CLAW ‘Sprays It’ At Bushwick Gallery

Tomorrow night, CLAW, the famed graffiti bomber turned fashion designer, opens “Spray It, Don’t Say It,” a solo show of her aerosol art at Eastern District in Bushwick. The exhibit opens from 7 to 10 tomorrow through May 12th at 43 Bogart Street. Get there early enough and enjoy the vodka courtesy of hallucination inducing Belvedere.

Poster Boy Should Remain Underground

This past weekend, the subway ad modifying artist known as Poster Boy unveiled his first solo exhibit at Eastern District in Brooklyn. The show basically consisted of a massive cut up Dunkin’ Donuts vinyl billboard that was stretched across the main wall. Unfortunately, like many street artists before him trying to make that transition from the streets into a gallery setting, the concept just doesn’t come off as interesting when taken out of its illegal element and it becomes a softer, less edgier version of his unsanctioned work. But we can’t knock everything from the show, the exterior sign is brilliant (after the jump) and we’ll still be on the lookout for what happens below the streets.

Poster Boy Cuts His Way Into Gallery Scene

Ad altering schizophrenic, Poster Boy, is changing it up a little and preparing for his solo exhibit at Eastern District gallery in Bushwick. Presented by PublicAdCampaign, the April 3rd “Ad Booster” show will feature new work, including an actual oversized billboard. Instead of just tearing one down like he did in the dead of winter, he’ll drag one into the space instead and modify it accordingly.
