Here it is, the trailer to HBO’s Game Change about how Palin ran for Vice President, remember? Going by the quick teaser, it’s seems to be telling us that back then “Obama just changed the entire dynamic” (because he’s black!) and all the GOP had was “a bunch of middle aged white guys” so they brought in… vagina! Game Change! Read more »

Here’s the latest trailer for You Don’t Know Jack from HBO Films, hoping to give you an intimate look into Al Pacino’s interpretation of the life of assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian. South Carolina House of Representatives employee and independent filmmaker James “Bubba” Cromer is suing Showtime and HBO for switching his “hysterical Appalachian comedy” with a soft-core porno of the same name. It sucks to be blasted by disgusted friends and lawmakers mistaking Cromer for a smut-lite peddler, but maybe “The Hills Have Thighs” wasn’t the best title choice? It just begs the error of a space alien abduction, hillbillies and babes tale being mistaken for something… unclassy.

Jonathan Ames Would Like to Invite You Over to His Place to Watch His Show

A couple of weeks ago, a TV-less Jonathan Ames, the oddball writer/creater of HBO’s Bored to Death, used Twitter to find a stranger with premium cable to have him over so he could watch his own show. Oh Jonathan Ames. I do heart him. His wacky antics are a perpetual source of amusement and inspiration, perhaps never more so than a couple of weeks ago when he searched for people on Twitter willing to let him come over to their place so he could watch Bored to Death, the show he writes for HBO, because he doesn’t own a TV. Now HBO, in an effort to spare Ames from having to tweet-grovel in the future for access to a television with premium cable, has bought him a TV, news Ames shared with the world this morning on Twitter, naturally. Some people consider writer/tranny-lover/boxer/Fiona Apple-dater Jonathan Ames’ unique brand of eccentricity, the same eccentricity displayed by the lead character in his HBO show Bored to Death also named Jonathan Ames, to be somewhat grating. Personally, as a HUGE fan of Ames’ writing, I find him enormously endearing, and his using Twitter to find a kindly stranger willing to let him come over to watch his own TV show (Ames doesn’t own a television.) will only help to enhance Ames’ already legendary kookiness. Wondering what to watch on TV tonight? Well here’s something that should both horrify and depress the living shit out of you! It’s HBO’s new documentary, Youth Knows No Pain, which is all about the ridiculous lengths people who still don’t realize that chronic masturbation is the secret Fountain of Youth go to these days to try to look young.
