Greek Plane Bombed

A Greek jetliner has been reportedly tagged by graffiti writers. In photos posted by oversharing graffiti writer REVOK, the words “Stay High” are seen painted along the aircraft’s wing where markings for Olympic Airlines have were covered up since the carrier shut down. Scarce on details, this news is all the more intriguing being reported by REVOK, one of the vandals who was shortchanged for his work on Marc Ecko’s Air Force One tag hoax.

What’s the best way to catch someone who’s splashing paint on your legal graffiti murals? You could always hire some stealthy papparazi to stake out your walls or you could pull a police manual tactic and post a reward for information. REVOK of MSK is offering “100 cans for real info as to the identity of the cowardly bitches dissing our walls anonymously around LA.” |Known Gallery|
With the help of some fingerprints and damning YouTube video evidence, LA’s Worst moved in and arrested notorious vandal REVOK. The West Coast based painter of Dark Knight and Murakami billboards, as well as numerous highway spots, was busted at his house last week. Cops had been searching for him since April 25th, when his tags began popping up during the Coachella music festival (remember that floating runaway pig?). Back in May, another LA-based vandal, BUKET, was arrested after videos of his illegal handiwork surfaced on YouTube and received a couple hundred thousand pageviews, which helped cops build their case against the writer who was brazen enough to have video shot of him bombing in public. |LATimes|

The Dark Knight hype continues to build from coast to coast. And while the imminent release of this movie is a big thrill for comic book nerds and Batman fans alike, for others it’s just another big ass canvas to tag. While we’ve got Money (there’s no denying whose really behind that “M,” but we’re not helping the vandal squad) bombing Batman billboards in Brooklyn, the West Coast has got AUGOR (left) and REVOK (right) doing the same in LA.
