PSA: Screw Dreamhost

So, as you may have noticed ANIMAL was down for a while this morning…please bear with our technical difficulties as we’re moving our operations to a more Animalistic server to better serve you. And by all means stay away from Dreamhost, a truly 3rd world hosting company.

Can someone please tell the fuckwits who run Tokion that people don’t care about turning pages on a digital magazine—it’s clumsy and dumb. And forget complaining about permalinks, they don’t even have a website with content anymore, quite possibly making it the most irrelevant magazine on the planet. |Tokion|

Next time you complain about your high speed internet service, keep this in mind: “A South African information technology company on Wednesday proved it was faster for them to transmit data with a carrier pigeon than to send it using Telkom, the country’s leading internet service provider.” |NYDN|

Twits Fail To Find Lance Armstrong’s Bike

When Lance Armstrong’s one of a kind Trek time trial bike was stolen he did what most seven time Tour de France champions would do, he posted a photo of it on Twitter and offered a reward for its return. Unfortunately, an army of followers and residual web connected cyclists have yet to produce any solid leads just inquiries. Lance published this update a couple of hours ago: “Still lots of ?’s from twitterati about the stolen TT bike. It’s still missing. The police recovered Jani’s bike but my bike is still MIA.” Chin up Lance, if this guy can get his bike back anything is possible!

Sarah Palin and Her DL Blackberrys

With word that Sarah Palin’s Yahoo email was easily hacked this week leading to some photos, correspondences, and contacts getting published on a gloating cesspool blog according to one right wing fundamentalist, it begs a question more important than how many state protocols is she violating by using a web based email or an in depth discussion into her right to privacy. Which one of these two Blackberrys got smashed? Thanks to secret Obama spy Meghan McCain, we have these photos of Sarah Palin with grandson Trig, Bristol, Piper and both her wireless handhelds at the ready—one of which she treats like a drug dealer’s pre-paid. Click below for more of that grandmotherly love.

BlackBerry Users Prefer Device Over Significant Others

So there’s a new study out that basically shows how fucked society really is becoming when it comes to our BlackBerry and PDA addictions: “The study of 6,500 traveling executives says 35 percent of them would choose their PDA over their spouse. And apparently that attitude is being seen in the sack. Of those polled, 87 percent said they bring their devices into the bedroom.” |WCBS|

The Sky Is Clogged With Airplanes Due To FAA “Glitch”

CNN is reporting that the FAA is having some major computer problems—or what the media prefers to call a “glitch”—that are preventing flight plans from being filed by planes on the ground leading to massive delays across the country. More than 5000 planes are in the air, but they’re slowly headed to their destinations and flight traffic controllers are trying to find space for them to land amid all the planes without flight plans waiting to take off. The above image was an actual snapshot of the friendly skies from this afternoon. |CNN|

New Meadowlands Stadium Will Be Inundated With LCD’s

In a technological move that will serve advertisers and ticket holders with shitty seats alike, a company has announced that it will be installing a visual sensory overload of LCD’s in the new Meadowlands Stadium for the Jets and Giants—scheduled to open in 2010. The 28 large-screen displays will be located on both the inside and outside of the stadium and will somehow make games more futuristic according to Giants President and CEO John Mara, “This Daktronics video system will provide New York Jets’ and New York Giants’ fans with a truly 21st century game day experience. From the moment they enter the New Meadowlands Stadium for the 2010 football season, fans will experience a state-of-the-art system that includes more than 40,000 square feet of high resolution LED technology.” This includes four massive 103 feet by 30 feet video screens in each of the stadium’s corners. The sheer mass of video displays will reportedly be great for NFL enthusiasts, allowing for oversized branding that will, according to the press release, “maximize excitement and entertainment for their fans.” How noble!
