According to the New York Times, Chinese hackers have been going after the paper for the past four months, possibly in response to an investigative report into Prime Minister Wen Jiabao’s family fortune. The attack lines up with methods used by the Chinese military in the past, according to the paper, and the files that were accessed included several relating to Prime Minister Wen and his family. “Computer security experts found no evidence that sensitive e-mails or files from the reporting of our articles about the Wen family were accessed, downloaded or copied,” said executive editor Jill Abramson. The paper has apparently ensured that the attacks will not happen again.
