Renowned Italain sculptor Maurizio Cattelan announced his retirement from contemporary art immediately following his retrospective at the Guggenheim, but he has hardly slowed down production in any way. In addition to collaborating with Italian photographer Pierpaolo Ferrariis on his publication Toilet Paper, the artist has now designed a bold line of impressive unisex sweatshirts for Milan-based fashion brand MSGM. These designs, based almost directly from the pages of the magazine seem to translate quite well to clothing and will surely become a hit once they are available.
While some may consider this to be a comeback for the contemporary artist and popular art world provocateur he insists that creating new issues of Toilet Paper still continues to “rock his world.”
I WANT THEM ALL.
The upcoming line of sweatshirts will be available at colette.fr, lanecrawford.com, thecorner.com,luisaviaroma.com, and ssense.com beginning at the end of June. (Images: Vogue/Toiletpaper/WhiteHotMagazine)
