A new study confirms what many of you may already know to be true: New York is home to the longest commutes in the country on average. Yes, even worse than Los Angeles. New Yorkers spend an average of 48 minutes each way when heading to work–13 minutes more than the national average.
The report was conducted by the nonprofit Partnership for New York City, which recommends improving public transit to ease the pain of getting to and from the office.
So go ahead, complain about crowded L trains, late-arriving G trains, or multiple transfers. You’ve earned it.
