Mr leos caraX Doc Trailer: “Why Do You Want to Be Like Everybody Else?”

January 20, 2014 | Marina Galperina

We’re excited for the documentary about director Leos Carax, now playing at Sundance Film Festival. Here’s the first trailer for Tessa Louise-Salomé’s Mr leos caraX. It’s very arty and atmospheric, as expected, complete with Tony Oursler-esque projection orbs. No sight of Harmony Korine yet, but Carax as construct is presented through his films, like a puzzle, all that finding uniquely beautiful in the ugly, the ugly in the commonly beautiful thing. It’s on Vimeo, presumably for the split-second silhouette of Denis Lavant’s raging hard-one as he’s running down the beach in that one scene from Lovers on the Bridge.
