Listen In: Nap Made You A Playlist

September 30, 2014 | Rhett Jones

“Listen In” is a weekly feature in which we ask musicians to curate a mixtape-length YouTube playlist of songs they’re currently digging. Click the big play button above to hear the whole playlist or scroll down to see and hear individual tracks.

Today’s playlist comes to you from New York-based heavy post-punk three-piece Nap. Nap is two thirds ANIMAL alumni (shout out Nate and Andy) and Pat. They’re influenced by bands like Shellac, the Jesus Lizard, the Pixies, Gang of Four, Wire, Liars, Swans and Joy Division. They are amazing live, so catch them at the Bowery Electric on October 16th and check out their newly released EP “Light Sleeper” on Bandcamp (available on cassette on October 18th). Here are some tracks hand-selected by each, varying from Hank Williams to the Birthday Party to what the hell did I just watch. Rock out.
