Floppy Cloud lets you play NES and Super Nintendo game Roms on your iPhone by cleverly disguising itself as file managing app. Normally apps like this are prohibited on the Apple’s products and services so expect this to be available for oh say … download it now! It seriously won’t last long.
All you have to do is download Floppy Cloud for a $1.99 and connect it to your DropBox account by clicking the little plus sign in the upper right hand corner. Then download whatever games you want here or by Google-ing “Nintendo Roms.” Once a rom is downloaded upload it to your DropBox and click it inside Floppy Cloud.
That’s it! As long as you’re opening a .nes or .smc file, the app will open it in the appropriate emulator with controls. We just played Battletoads on our iPhone. It also really is a file manager so you could open comics and books with it too. Very useful.
One last note: the controls for old school games can suck on touch screens, so stick with games that aren’t too manic. But why are you reading this still? Download it. Merry Christmas from Apple’s screening board to you.
