Westhampton-Hampton Bays Patch has the scoop that the East Hampton Town Board will not be banning the use of personal helicopters on weekends in the affluent town on Long Island’s South Shore. The board handed down the decision on Tuesday, stating that the proposed helicopter ban was too restrictive.
Councilwoman Kathee Burke-Gonzalez proposed a 4-part regulation in February that also proposed a curfew on aircraft during the week. No parts of the ban passed, because what are hedge fund guys and media moguls supposed to do to get to their Hamptons estates? Ride in cars, like peasants?
Patch has much more (I mean, so much more; their article is very long), but TL;DR – fly your helicopters so high they touch the sun, my beautiful billionaires. No one can stop you.
