The story of young Frenchman Philippe Petit, who in 1974 incredibly walked between the Twin Towers on an illegally rigged tightrope, was told in award-winning documentary Man on Wire. Now Petit’s obsession is coming back to the big screen, this time fictionalized and in 3D in The Walk. The film will open the 53rd Annual New York Film Festival, becoming the second 3D film to open it. The Walk, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, comes to theaters October 2.
