A tacky, dumb golf course deserves a tacky, dumb clubhouse, right? That seems to be the reasoning behind the reported size increase of the clubhouse at Trump Ferry Point, Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s public golf course in the Bronx. The clubhouse’s renderings, obtained by DNAinfo, show that the soon-to-be-built clubhouse’s square footage has been upped from the previously reported 12,000 to 18,455.
Parks Department spokesman Mario Lopez told DNAinfo that the clubhouse itself remains the same size, just the outdoor area is bigger:
“The 18,455 square feet of space includes the outdoor dining and bar terraces, but the covered building space is still approximately 12,000 square feet,” he said.
But Ron Lieberman, an executive vice president at the Trump Organization, said that the clubhouse is indeed a little bigger than it was. The increased size means that the Trump Organization will be able to take in more revenue from refreshments and catering, which will benefit the city too, Lieberman says, since the city takes a 7 percent cut of the revenue from refreshments, catering, and merchandise.
“The more money we make, the more money the city makes,” Lieberman said.
The clubhouse will cost about $10 million. The course as a whole cost somewhere between $127 to $269 million to build. A round costs between $141 and $215. Donald Trump says he has $8 billion, but he’s probably lying. We flew a drone over the course, so you can see what it looks like without putting any money in Donald Trump’s shit-filled pocket.
