This is what a documentary about DFA should look like: good-natured, energetic, no portentous interviews about meaning and “lasting significance.”12 Years of DFA: Too Old To Be New, Too New To Be Classic qucikly chronicles the history and current affairs of the stupidly consistent NYC label founded on the principles of having a good time, touching on the business’s daily workings, the bands it represents, the venerated “DFA sound,” and of course, James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem.
