Many have tried to get their crotch recognized for the inspiring piece of art that it is, but now, artist Karen Finley will make that happen for you. But you have to send her sexts. And money.
In conjunction with the New Museum’s “NYC 1993: Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star” exhibit, Karen Finley presents “Sext Me if You Can” — an interactive performance installation in which as a “participating patron” you will send pictures of your junk to the artist via a private phone number between May 23 and May 26. Your crotch shall then play muse to a series of paintings, displayed at the lobby of the New Museum for the duration of the installation and then, sold back to you, you sexy “collector” you.
So what’s happening here is that “the erotic exchange with the artist—bound by rules of commerce—transforms into a lasting and collectible work of art.” And your dick is in a museum. Or whatever you have that you do sexy with.
